Keeping guns out of the hands of bad guys is a challenge, but what about your own guns? If somebody comes into your house and you pull your gun on them, things might not go the way they go in television and movies. Here are a few reasons to make sure your guns are properly kept, ideally in a safe.

Your children should not be able to access any firearms that you own. Only 18 percent of children have had their parents talk to them about firearms. This is among families that own firearms. 52 percent of parents who do not have firearms do not discuss this issue with their children. At the beginning of 2016, 77 people were shot by minors, out of this, 23 people were shot by toddlers.
In most cases, kids end up shooting themselves. In other cases, parents and siblings are also victims. In some of the cases surveyed, the guns that the kids used belonged to guests. These accidents ended up with people dying.
