Ribs Seasoning Rub Makes Any Meat Better

By Dorothy Hughes

Adding flavor to grilled meat or chicken is not always an easy task for those who like to bring out the full taste. While some grill cooks may be satisfied with just salt and pepper, there are other spices worth exploring. Using ribs seasoning rub not only enhances the natural taste but can keep it from going dry.

Although some people tend to think that they can only use a designated rub, experimentation is the way to learning about flavors since individual tastes are just that. Those who like spicy chicken or turkey may find that a liquid or dry rub made for beef or pork may have some of the essences they were looking for. For those who like to use caution, a little can go a long way when cooking smaller portions.

While cooking over an open fire brings a nice smoky flavor, some rub blends can bring that same flavor to oven cooked entrees. One advantage to using rubs on meats is that these can seal in the natural juices. This is why some people say they drown their grilled meat in a sauce is because it is either too chewy or slightly burned.

More people are using rubs because these take less time to flavor than liquid marinades. It can take extra time in the kitchen to make a homemade marinade that has the right flavor. Otherwise, a lot of grill cooks say that many of the popular brands found at the supermarket are a waste of money.

These can also help when a person chooses to step outside of the norm or wants to duplicate something they may have tasted at a restaurant. Flavors like roasted garlic, spicy, and tropical flavors bring an interesting flavor profile to any entree. Adding a rub or marinade is a lot quicker than trying to buy ingredients separately and measure for taste.

Even though most people prefer to use these for outdoor cooking, it is also ideal for fast indoor cooking. People who are busy find they can bypass the measuring of spices. Even better, because a lot of rubs use freshly dried herbs and crushed seasoning, the sodium content is usually a lot less than commercial seasoning blends.

For those with large families, these shortcuts can also be ideal for junior cooks who are learning their way around the kitchen while their parents work. Rubs can also be used in a ground meat main dish like burgers and meatloaf. However, since many of these have an intense flavor, it may be best to read any recipes so that the final product will be edible for all.

Making recipes that taste good and free of chemicals are good but when these can be made quickly, a person may feel as if they hit the jackpot. These can take meat, pork, or poultry into another place with its intense flavor. Some of these grilled creations are so good that people forget about adding barbecue sauce.
